Ignorance is defined as a lack of knowledge and/or education, God's word says his people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. He also tells us the bible is the infallible word of God, in fact, the highest form of education. But like any knowledge that might be attained, unless applied it's useless to you. As for religion's gift being intolerance, that's an amusing little quip and in a way you're right. Some RELIGIONs do feed off the disapproval of others (satanism, atheism for two)
but a true relationship with Jesus Christ is it's own reward. In fact the thing that makes many people run from God is a fear of what other people think. It's not that you decide that you just love to shock people by proclaiming your'e a "Jesus Freak" it's that you realize people are just that-people. They hold no bearing on your eternal soul, nor do they have nearly as much knowledge and power as the living God. This song is an inspiration to me. It reminds us that we can make fun of ourselves and even take pride in being "Jesus Freaks",
we love our Lord and we know he'll never leave us, he's always there in good and bad, and I pray that OwnPersonalDemon might someday see that and quit hiding behind the smug self-righteous blanket of Godlessness, and realize we are only truly strong when we allow ourselves to be weak in His presence.
