I'm pretty sure it's atonement.

In an interview or something I think the drummer said that the name Mushroomhead was designed to make people think because it could mean so many things. Drugs, sex, or fungal. It supposed to be kind of ambiguous.

The two things that I thought of that could be the new masterpiece: Life, or Civilization. Rembrant as my right hand, solo as my pilot. Does anyone get that? Because of the talents of others in the past its possible to build things (masterpiece, way of living, civilization) that one couldn't alone. I really haven't figured this out though.

@Ancient Lorcado j- Mann is probably stating in this part that he's readying himself for something by saying "Calm before the storm And the western front is quiet" Rembrandt was a Dutch artist and solo as my pilot is reference to Han Solo of starwars (since he's tattooed on his forearm) both were creative at what they did. Maybe the person in the song has to rise up to a challenge, and be creative when the time arrives.
