This song is great, like all of Flaw's songs. I think they're talking(at least in the verses) about comparing his own childhood to that of other kids. His adoptive mother committed suicide, his father sent him off to rehab centers....It's talking about how he believes, looking back on that, that it actually made him a better person("I wouldn't trade my own mistakes at all"). I don't know about the chorus. I'm not very good with song meanings.
