bane is far from the greatest straight edge band ever. maybe bold or youth of today or minor threat. bane may not have sXe lyrics anymore but they are still good positive words. they also don't really condone drugs or drinking either. at least not in song. bane is a great band in hardcore because they don't have any moniker attached to them. they aren't a vegan band or a sXe band. they are just a hardcore band. i wouldn't say i've ever considered them sXe hardcore even in the beginning.
