I kinda disagree with everything posted so far. It seems to me that Hed are looking around at everything and saying that people just don't care about anything. They're having a dig at all of the self-righteous, selfish idiots in the world.
The views expressed so far imply that the writers have only listened to Serj's chorusy bit, but if you listen to the next bit it says:

I'm saying fuck you and fuck the norm like that
Revolt and transform like that
Make a difference
Have an impact
Then it goes into biblical references and returns to the armageddon situation they hinted at at the beginning.
So yeah, an amazing song - but I believe that they're trying to get across that people put they're own comfort and good-feelings before what's right and good. It's a commentary on the moral breakdown in the world.
