But I think this song is about the mindless conformity of the people that do music and listen to music for all the wrong reasons. "We started to follow so long ago." Those are the fans that jump on the bandwagon not for the music but for the label that comes with it...he wants to know what this is all about anymore if not the music, and nobody can tell him. And that if the artists don't do what entertains the majority they'll die out and be forgotten. "Kill it fast and kill it while you don't know" They have to get away from the cliques and escape before it destroys them like another hero dead.
