Lyric discussion by _freak_

I havent read all the replies but those people who claim it is about Jesus and or God failing the human race im sorry to say this but I think you do not understand christianity at all. Out of the responses I read (to do with religion) only ToWn Wizzard's was reasonable.

I dont understand how people think that all the suffuring on this world is Jesus' fault. When Jesus died on the cross he offered salvation to every single human being who was willing to hear Gods words and act on them. He did not commit suicide, his death was inevitable. No one knows the events surronding Jesus' death the the Gospels were all written after 60 AD (This is when most the people who heard Jesus' teaching were dead) they are the first accounts of Jesus' life and they are not historical. So dont be to quick to believe that Jesus's last words were "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me!"

In the Gospels (espicially Luke) Jesus is protrayed as a completely non-judgemental person who deeply understands God and his own ministry. He offers salvation to anyone who repents.

From the Gosples a strong lesson of what it means and is required to be a true disciple of Jesus emerges. I think that the strongest message that emerges is to not only love the people that love you (that is easy) love those who hate you and give to anyone who needs anything, try to be a completely non-judgemental person.

As Luke says, in chapter 6 of his gospel. "Why do you see the speak in your neighbours eye, but you do not notice the log in your own eye?" In other words why do you judge and criticse the faults of other people (people here have judged Jesus) when you haven't noticed the faults about yourself and tryed to overcome them.

Jesus was completely sinless. He took on the sins of humanity and in that way he offered salvation to all.

Im in not pushing christanity on anyone. I totally respect those people who do not belive in Jesus Christ (who am I to Judge). I dont agree with people who blindly follow the religion (this includes people who go to church everyweek, people who give to charity just to feel like a good person). I dont agree with people forcing their religion on others. These two things (along with other factors) is what causes pain and suffering in our world today. People corrupt religion and then blame the state of the world on Jesus and/or God without even studying the religion to find out what it is really about.
