Where your eyes don't go a filthy scarecrow waves its broomstick arms
And does a parody of each unconscious thing you do
When you turn around to look it's gone behind you
On its face it's wearing your confused expression
Where your eyes don't go

Where your eyes don't go a part of you is hovering
It's a nightmare that you'll never be discovering
You're free to come and go or talk like Kurtis Blow
But there's a pair of eyes in back of your head

Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders
What the part that isn't thinking isn't thinking of
Should you worry when the skull head is in front of you
Or is it worse because it's always waiting where your eyes don't go?

Where your eyes don't go a part of you is hovering
It's a nightmare that you'll never be discovering
You're free to come and go or talk like Kurtis Blow
But there's a pair of eyes in back of your head

Where your eyes don't go a filthy scarecrow waves its broomstick arms
And does a parody of each unconscious thing you do
When you turn around to look it's gone behind you
On its face it's wearing your confused expression
Where your eyes don't go

i could sing the "every jumbled..." line over and over again. not only fun lyrics and twisty melody, but the cadence, especially on that line, really does a lot for this song.

now please, nobody get me wrong here, love TMBG about 90% of the time, but does the Kurtis Blow inclusion in the song kinda take away from it, in anyone's opinion? there's just so many great qualities to this song that of course i always listen and enjoy when it comes up on the mp3 player, but that pop cultural reference just always seems to kind of put me off a bit when i'm otherwise enjoying scarecrow archetypes and weaving-wavy lyrics. (i have no problem with Blow, certainly not his soul train appearances, but maybe i'm too young to completely get the reference?)
