Kill Your Mother Rape Your Dog

It's fairly obvious that the kill your mother rape your dog line is tongue in cheek. They are making fun of the death metal stereotype. I sincerely hope you realize this.

You just don't get it. Death Metal really isn't about profound lyrics, if it was I'm sure they'd sing so you could understand...to me its about straight-up anger that hasn't been watered down by record execs and public relations people that are trying to get something to be so dumbed-down the majority will consume it to the point of gluttony. ...And you chose to critice a band for saying they are better than all the pop-bullshit...yet you did the exact same thing you criticised....a little bit ironic, isnt it?

You don't have to like death metal (we'd preffer if most of you jackasses didn't) but to say it takes no talent is ignorant, and has probbaly never picked up an instrument any more complex than a kazoo.

The reason they mention REM and Pearl Jam along with the Spice girls and crpa like that is because they're both small, underground bands that jumped to major labels and became more commercial. They also represented a shift in the attitudes of the underground scenes, cos initially most bands were in their respective scenes just to make music and earn enough money to survive, but after band like REM and Pearl Jam broke out and achieved commercial success, a lot of bands changed their priorities and sound and tried to make a career out of it.

The song has nothing to do with killing your mother or raipng a dog, And they never claimed that thier music was any better. READ THE LYRICS. They are talking about bands that are selling out and are only in it for the money.

It talks about the commercialitation that has been pasted over this pop ruled world

all they're saying is crappy music is being marketed too much, thats why they said they don't need their "advice"

Why do death-metal bands think they have to be gross and sing pityful lyrics most of them? too bad to hear such talented musicians spewing shit outta their mouths.They shouldn't criticize REM or Pearl Jam for they wrote some major songs and are not the best examples of phony bands.

Just to add to what's already been said, heavier death-metallish stuff used to be referred to by trendies as "Kill your mother, rape your dog" music. So they're not trying to be gross at all.

Wow DiBowfleX, try playing the complex beats these drummers play in death metal, try picking up a guitar and shredding those quick trem riffs you piece of shit, try growling your way through a whole damn set in a life concert, its not easy, these guys are the athletes of music, so go fuck yourself you rotting piece of shit
