Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
I wudn't say he's missing the one he loves but more fantasising about that whom he admires. Its sounds alot like a teenage infatuation. Maybe the one moment is at like a party and he gets what he wants. the gothic flavour could be that of stale cigarettes and alchohal sticking in the girls mouth. Just a thought really...
I’m the first one to comment here in over a decade. You know, when the last comment was made I was 3 years old. I’m 16 now. Crazy huh. Solid song 8/10, I think it’s somewhere below blue in quality but still really great.
I love this song. I didn't think Maladroit would be very good, since the Green album wasn't all that great, but I guess Riv and the gang got their act together... not near as good as Pinkerton. A lot better than Green, I'd say it's about the quality, or a little better, than Blue.
well i think maladriot is great too, and i think i prefer it over Blue... Blue has really nice songs but maladriot songs are just harder and more kickass!
Anyway i agree with FlipperBomb; damn nice song but weird cause it makes you wanna cry and dance and be happy all at the same time...
all i know is that rivers had a girlfriend who is gothic, hence 'gothic flavor'....i guess he just misses her...
he also keeps an encyclopedia of songs by bands like oasis and green day...it's in the rolling stone issue...so he can basically figure out the formula for the perfect hit song...
