The only way this songs meanig could be more obvious is if it were called "Bad Obsession with Heroin".
It's clearly about having kicked heroin physically, knowing you're better off with out it, but not being able to get it out of your head.
Its pretty obvious that it has two meanings. One, that he's trying to kick his drug habit, and compares it to a habit like biting nails. Two, he's addicted to sex with his ex girlfriend. I like the last one better because too many songs "could" be about drugs.
