My Michelle Lyrics
Your daddy works in porno
Now that mommy's not around
She used to love her heroin
But now she's underground
So you stay out late at night
And you do your coke for free
Drivin' your friends crazy
With your life's insanity
Well, well, well, you just can't tell
Well, well, well, my Michelle
Sowin' all your wild oats
In another's luxuries
Yesterday was Tuesday
Maybe Thursday you can sleep
But school starts much too early
And this hotel wasn't free
So party till your connection calls
Honey I'll return the key
Chorus:
Well, well, well, you just can't tell
Well, well, well, my Michelle
Well, well, well, you never can tell
Well, well, well, my Michelle
Evryone needs love
You know that it's true
Someday you'll find someone
That'll fall in love with you
But oh the time ti takes
When you're all alone
Someday you'll find someone
That you can call your own
But till then ya better...
Now you're clean
And so discreet
I won't say a word
But most of all this song is true
Casse you haven't heard
So c'mon and stop your cryin'
'Cause we both know money burns
Honey don't stop tryin'
An you'll get what you deserve
Chorus
Now that mommy's not around
She used to love her heroin

I think this song was written for a friend of Axl's and it isn't demeaning her lifestyle but giving her hope that her life will improve even though she came from a bad background. It shows unconditional friendship and hope for the future...
a song with my name in it. cool song
it says in one of the more recent issues of Rolling Stone that michelle was a friend of axl's, and they were sitting in the car listening to 'your song' but elton john. michelle mentioned she would love to have a song written about her and 'my michelle' was born
i think this song was written for a girl axl and slash new who was pretty damn wild & dysfunctional
About a girl named Michelle that used to know the band, she was a whore.
i love this song. its on of my favorite songs by GnR. one of the first songs i remember hearing from them when i was a little ass kid. my friends older brother used to listen Appetite all the time when i was at their house.
dude it is definitely Michelle with two L's :)
yes!!!! it is, its michelle!!!!! i was thinking the same thing. this is a good song, not their best, but its up there. from one of the best cd's ever of course.
has anyone else noticed the lyrics :
She used to love her heroin But now she's underground
and how they sound very much like a velvet underground or even nico reference? maybe it's just a coincidence but the first time i heard those lyrics that's immediately what came to mind!
im not sure if its a reference, but good call on that one still. by the way, heroin is probably my favorite song by the velvet underground.

She used to love her heroin But now she's underground
Meaning that the drugs killed her, and now she's dead and buried.
