Your Retro Career Melted Lyrics

Recovering slowly, a torso fell
From a beat up truck by a rural motel
The manager seen how the truck bed bounced
While dust flew up with a rolling sound
Voices appear from the staff outside
In bulbous text in a western style
His mannequin neck spun to turn his face
The bars spills drunks out frame by frame
Girls pushed girls side to side
To hear a suction sound as limbs realign
The crowd just seemed to multiply
They hear his plastic jaw as the news drops hard:

"Your retro career melted"

They couldn't have agreed with the mannequin less
They didn't understand what the mannequin meant
The sound of a barreled gun held to the back
Some plastic clicks as the shell parts pass
Flesh tone shards fly by wild
They fill a plastic bag with the parts inside
The bag got dumped, a town nearby
They reassembled fast as his voice dropped hard:

"Your retro career melted"

Oh for pete's sake - the mannequin (not robot)...doesn't kill anybody! The people kill the mannequin. "flesh tone shards" = chunks of skin-colored plastic. The thing shows up and magically sucks itself back together (after likely having met a similarly violent fate in the last town). It delivers it's message which the townspeople either take great offense to...or, in a stereotypically rural manner, fail to understand and thus violently fear...and they blow it away. They gather up the evidence, dump it all in the next town over, and agree to never speak of the whole "mannequin thing" again. And the cycle begins anew.

What is it about the Faint that makes me want to dance my funky ass off. I swear they are great, as simple as that. This is a song you play when killing your enemies, just hire some guy to carry a boombox on his shoulder while you murder someone's faggot ass, doesn't even have to be an enemy. This should be motivation enough, dahhhhhhhhh!!!!&%&^#^!$%#^!!!!

What i got from this song is that they are trying to relate the new fashion/ corporate lifestyles to religion and how people rebel at first but can never escape. Somewhere in the world this mannequin belongs to a lifestyle that is flourishing and on some weird mission to tell "older western towns" that their way of life is "melting." Melting is a slow process. The chorus is the mannequin talking. The townspeople in fright do not understand and react and dump him in another town nearby where we reassembles his body and restates his belief. Kind of like the...

Why does everyone get these two songs mixed up? They are both great, but nothing alike... Odd.

The reason they mix the two up is some smart guy on Morpheus/Kazaa/Grokster ripped Let the Poison Spill twice, once on both names. That's the only version of this song that's available, so in other words, unless you buy the CD you can't hear the real song.

What's up with this song?? I can see the story i gues... robot comes in from bed of truck, says this shit to people, and then do people get killed AND the robot? or why is there flesh peices, and then what they just take it to a new town? and it re-assembles kinda like a cycle and it says the same shit again... but what does "Your Retro Career Melted" mean!?

It kind of reminds me of the scene in AI at the Flesh Fair. shrugs Very strange lyrics but I thoroughly love it anyway.
