Television Lyrics
She's always around and under my skin
Watching her move how she tells a story
It's only a dream of lovers and lies
She's cruel and she's free like television
She's in my head
Like television
She's in my head
We fall into bed our tongues are tied
Her lips and her eyes are so disarming
And when we embrace she pulls me inside
I wake up alone with television
Crawl around the story
Oh, how the waves wash over me
Lost inside her story
She's in my head
Like television
She's in my head
She shows me the world I see through her eyes
The beauty of brave new understanding
It's only a dream of lovers and lies
I carry with me in all my vision
She's always around and under my skin
Watching her move how she tells a story
And when we embrace she pulls me inside
She's cruel and she's free like television
Crawl around the story
Oh, how the waves wash over me
Lost inside her story
She's in my head

It seems to be talking about feeling empty with someone he's addicted to - beside the obvious metaphor about television, it seems like no matter how many times he's with her, the same thing repeats and when he or she leaves, it's the same shallow feeling.
i think he obsesses over someone he has a crush on but can't be with her. hence he keeps dreaming and fantasizing about her, how it could be with her and what new things she could show him.
an obsession with someone he's with. he likes her wayy more than she likes him. the television simile is blatant... he even explained it in one of his interviews.
like how you fall asleep with the tv on, it effects your dreams, he thinks of this person so much that he dreams of her, his view of her is probably distorted somewhat
