I fisrt heard this song when i was in love with my ex. I thought it was just like candy and i thought it to be a beautiful love song. After he broke up with me i realized it was not a love song at all, cause the other person is leaving/left. The author is still in love and thinks things will be the same after they realized what they had (wrong i figured out). To me this song is about being in love with someone so much that you completly miss their faults and the illusion of the one you love, loving you.
this song is so beautiful...i can't believe no one has commented on it...it reminds me of laying in bed with my ex staring out the window watching the rain drops and stars...sigh

These are listened to politely but rejected in favor of the high. the addict is essentially in love with his self minded escape and the mind is completely occupied thinking about the next hit.Â
I think lyrics are at their best when they can take on many meanings. It enables the listener to find common ground rather than being limited rigidly to one specific thing.

i love this song... i think its my favorite one by sunny day. all the songs on the rising tide are so beautiful..its mesmorizing and calming and everything all at once.
I think this song is about being deceived, but a self deception or denial rather than one inflicted by others. Its as if everyone else can see that this person is poison; and yet, you refuse to see it and convince yourself eventually this person will accept you and love you, whereas its all a dream. Candy is just something in a pretty wrapper that is unhealthy for you in the end.

I was listening to this song just when i liked this girl but never had the guts to call her and then all of a sudden she calls me. its is all about the feeling you have before you can give someone your heart
i think this started out as a relationship and then she leaves. everyone is talking down her memory but he still loves her and he thinks its fine.

the devil is a religious symbol. the phrase "undead and awake and returning within" is a veritable born-again slogan. it all just seems spiritual. although of course it could be stretched to be about a woman as well, and that's what i think dan intended for it to be.
someone left him & he cant get over her, so he imagines that she'll come back to him... but she wont. he just dreams that she'll open her arms in the light of their "love" :) sounds kinda weird and stalkerish to me, but nonetheless gorgeous.
