Television Lyrics
I sit alone contemplating
What is missing inside me
I desperately try to remember
A life that's not meant to be
I meditate
And try to recapture
Some sense of reality
In my life
When I look around
I see numb empty faces
The world is waiting to die
And this apathy
Is so suffocating
The slow decay of my mind
I've searched the world
For someone with answers
To questions that are plaguing me
I scream in vain
To anyone who'll listen
But everbody's watchin' TV
Is anyone alive?
Am I lost in a world
Where nothing matters?
Am I lost in a world
Where no one cares?
Is anyone alive?
Is anyone alive?
Are we lost in a world
Where nothing matters?
Are we lost in a world
Where no one cares?
(Is anyone alive?)
What is missing inside me
I desperately try to remember
A life that's not meant to be
And try to recapture
Some sense of reality
In my life
I see numb empty faces
The world is waiting to die
And this apathy
Is so suffocating
The slow decay of my mind
For someone with answers
To questions that are plaguing me
I scream in vain
To anyone who'll listen
But everbody's watchin' TV
Where nothing matters?
Am I lost in a world
Where no one cares?
Is anyone alive?
Where nothing matters?
Are we lost in a world
Where no one cares?

This is the first song I posted and its a friken good one. This song is about a man sayin' he is lonely and isolated in his neighbourhood and then he realizes that this is happening because everyone around him is dull and lifeless. When he screams "Is anyone alive?" but he sadly knows the answer and with greif, its no...
"I scream in vain To anyone who'll listen But everbody's watchin' TV"
...what a cute line!
I love this song...personally it is one of my favorite songs of all time, it's that good.
I agree with Frelic, but I feel there might be a slight deeper meaning to it..i'll look into it.
this is a song clearly about how the Television is consuming the human race, turning everyone into apathetic mindless zombies, unfit to even be considered alive
This song is so fantastic! It's become like an anthem for everyone who actually isn't sucked in by the mindless droning of television. It's just about feeling different, why is he 'more awake' so to speak and why does he feel so different.
My fav part is: "When I look around I see numb empty faces The world is waiting to die"
So poignant.
