Forgotten Hopes Lyrics

Hey you rotting in an alcoholic (empty) shell
Banging on the walls of your intoxicated mind
Do you ever wander why you were left alone
As your heart grew colder
And finally turned to stone

Did I punish you for dreaming?
Did I break your heart and leave you crying?
Don’t you ever dream of escaping?

Pathetic oblivion
Forgotten hopes buried in your soul’s lonely grave
Pathetic oblivion
Remember how you were before you locked
your heart away

Did I punish you for dreaming?
Did I break your heart and leave you crying?
Don’t you ever dream of escaping?

You guys don't get this song becaouse you probably don't know what it's like to be an alcoholic. It's about drifting away from your family and fiends and truly alike closing yourself up in your small shell of trust ridden world. It's a pathetic state of regret and constant feeling of being trapped. I really wish you never to get the full meaning of those lyrics.

@mr.y I see this was done a very long time ago, but your perception is correct!!!! it is actually from the viewpoint of the alcoholic!!!!!
