Rodeo Jones Lyrics

Off of my hand
Flew a snow white dove
Watch it disappear into the sun
Your's a halo
For dreams that sounded does
Words are all on the page
And tears and blood

Off of my hand
Flew the snow white dove
Into the sun now I'm bleeding
I'm in need of

Shakespeare sang air on air
So I sung
Shakespeare turned dust to dust
So to my life

Words and in between no aims
I call these worms we'll meet someday
Across the ocean where my heart bends
Was it you I saw
Running to bare me

When we're running from lost love
Leaving bonds to skin on a file
Was it you I saw running to bare
Won't leave you hard

To our end
No imagery
Waiting for someone lying
Waiting for my day
My eyes will see
Wait for me
In your misery wait for me

hmmm, well if im not mistaken, those are the lyrics that were translated from the Japanese version. Didnt they include the lyrics with the American copy or is everyone just insanely lazy about copying them? If I have to I will go out and buy the CD myself. But yeah they do seem pretty off....

That's the lyrics from the Japanese version I believe. I don't think there were lyrics with the American one. Amazing song though.

i listened to the song and followed along with the lyrics posted above, and i didn't notice that many mistakes. the only i could find were that the chorus (shakespeare, sang air on air...) and the end verse (to our end, no imagery) weren't indicated at places where they were repeated (which many musicians often leave out when transcribing their lyrics), and the words get a bit fumbled towards the end, like what was written could be what he was singing, but since his tortured screaming voice is so hard to understand, we can only guess. i find that common in sdre songs, the lyrics vary with every version of the song, sometimes there aren't even set lyrics for them, jeremy just sings whatever he wants (i.e.: the blankets were the stairs, song about an angel). To the meaning of this song, i honestly really dont know. i think the dove mentioned in the beginning could be like peace, and peace left him very quickly as if it weren't there at all and now he's bleeding, or just suffering. for the part about shakespeare, i guess he could be saying that shakespeare wrote and sung his woes, so he will try that as well, or something like that, i dunno. i dont really want to take a stab at the next 2 verses, but i think the end part is him screaming to the "other" person in the song, the one whom he relates to whom he wants to join in there misery, which is why he screams to wait at the end for him so they can both help each other. i think that most of jeremy's lyrics have the underlying theme that words are inadequate to explain emotions, which is why his lyrics often dont even make real sentences, they're just words that he sings to try to express his mind.

awesome song, though, one of my favorites by them next to iscarabaid and the blankets were the stairs.

I've listened to this song about 10 tens in a row now and based on the above transcription and listening to the album version here's my attempt at getting closer to the proper lyrics... Once again, undoubtedly flawed but this is the closest I could get that sort of sounded right to me, some of it is quite certain, most of it is really listen and figure it out...!

Off of my hand Flew a snow white dove When d'you disappear into the sun The years a halo For dreams returned to dust Words dissolve on a page Like tears in blood

Off of my hand Flew a snow white dove When d'you disappear into the sun Now I'm bleeding Oh I'm in need of love

Shakespeare sang air on air So I sang Shakespeare turned dust to dust So too my love

What's that in between the waves I'll recall these worms, we'll meet someday Across the ocean where my heart burns Was it you I saw Under the pale moon

Shakespeare sang air on air So I sang Shakespeare turned dust to dust So too my love

Shakespeare sang air on air So I sang Shakespeare turned dust to dust So too my love

When we're running from lost love Leaving punctured skin on the floor Was it you I saw under the moon Woe bleeding heart

To end our end No imagery Waiting for someone blind Waiting for one day My eyes were saved Wait for me there

Rodeo Rodeo Jones Your misery, your misery Wait for me there

No offense... ...but you're ALL...let's say... "naive". THE LYRICS POSTED ARE PERFECTLY CORRECT!! Stop trying to make it the way you would want it or would make it yourself! It's not your song!! I've seen this band nine times throughout the 90s!! They are and we're amazing! They aren't "radio play", regurgitated lyrics. They ALL were artists & like any artist, will change shit as they see fit. I've heard them do songs so flipped around I wasn't sure what they were playing until I pieced the words together...THEN the chorus came around. Any good song doesn't have any one meaning. Just like a great poem or book is written to the reader for THEIR interpretation. I hope this advice has helped at least one of you & helps you enjoy YOUR music.
