Nothing Left Inside Lyrics
Nothing
Nothing
Nothing left inside
Love
Love
Nothing left inside
Pain in my heart
Pain hurts my heart
Nothing left inside
Lies
Your lies
Nothing left inside
I built it up
I broke it down
Nothing left inside
Leach
Drained me dry
Nothing left inside
Lonely, lonely, lonely
Lonely, lonely boy
Nothing left inside
I want to see you
I want to see you
I want you to see my eyes
Nothing left inside
Nothing left inside
Nothing
Nothing left inside
Love
Nothing left inside
Pain hurts my heart
Nothing left inside
Your lies
Nothing left inside
I broke it down
Nothing left inside
Drained me dry
Nothing left inside
Lonely, lonely boy
Nothing left inside
I want to see you
I want you to see my eyes
Nothing left inside

hearts of oak got it right I think... What I love about the later Black Flag was the hard rock/punk/jazz-rock/metal mix of music but that had these sentimental, "emotional" style lyrics. I think that took a lot of balls, and it's great stuff.
"Nothing Left Inside" is exactly how I'm feeling right now. It's about loving and caring for someone and then being carelessly abandoned by them. It puts pain in your heart and hurts(Pain hurts my heart). They deceived you about their feelings (Lies). You put a lot of effort into making this person happy but they were unreasonably hard to please (I built it up, broke it down). They used you (Leach). You now feel you connect with no one (Lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely boy {I freakin love this line}).
You now want them to see things from your side and feel your pain (I want you to see my eyes).
Damn, am I rambling or what. A note to ALL : Women are heartless and manipulative.
Hey, not all women are like that.
Hey, not all women are like that.
Just most of them.
Just most of them.
This song perfectly describes that feeling after you break up with someone you loved and "loved" you back. You want to get back together with that person you wanna see them you want to make it work, but you know it just wont work.
i dig henry's singing on this... especially at the end, really emotional...
