I don't think this song is out of style for BF, not sure where you guys get that idea.

It's obviously about giving your all to someone in a relationship and they take you for granted and don't appreciate you for who you are. And he's probably a little crazy too, hence the killing with the knife part. Or maybe just a drunk ("liquor store").

Or it could imply that he's a complete stalker type nutcase, like how people stalk celebrities and then kill em.

At the beggening of this song it does seem a little ironic for Black Flag but at the end when he kills her it is the Black Flag syle. Plus Black Flag is the SHIT so who cares if they write an I love you song!

The song is about someone who entrusted his love into a girl, and spent alot of time trying to make her happy and sacrificing his own shit, and then she rewards him with nothing at all, so he goes and kills her.

this song perfectly describes my last relationship especially "I gave you my life, but what did I get?" basically he is saying he gave her everything and what does he get in return, nothing he gets screwed over .
