In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida Lyrics
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey,
don't you know that I love you?
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby,
don't you know that I'll always be true?
Oh, won't you come with me
and take my hand?
Oh, won't you come with me
and walk this land?
don't you know that I love you?
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby,
don't you know that I'll always be true?
and take my hand?
and walk this land?

This tune is awesome. "In a Garden of Eden"... the perfect woman... the perfect place... the perfect acid rock tune. I've been listening to it since it was first released. It was the first album in history to go PLATINUM. The keyboards, drums, bass and guitar are ALL perfect. They knit together to create that eerie "out-of-this-world" sound without being overly loud. By the way, the guitarist Erik Brann was only 17 years old at the time... highly skilled for someone so young. This tune is now almost 40 years old, but will still be around 300 years from now...
no, it does mean eden. they wrote the song sober but sant it once while drunk. it was all slurred, thus: in-a-gadda-da-vida. after they sang it like that they liked it. now it is always sung like that
i heard this on the simpsons lol
It's so cool to read about you young guys listening to and commenting on classic rock
amazing song. arguably the best chill-out song in the world, with its smooth psychedelic rhythm. just love it. anyone agree?
btw, garden of eden or garden of venus, does it really matter?

Sounds like a rap song. But this 17:00 minute song is amzing with drum solos and organ solos.
So who else is thinking of The Simpsons while thinking of this song?
@Adrian Megale I knew this well before the Simpsons but thinking more of Manhunter.

weird but catchy song...
I agree with barefootacoustic
you might be right, but if youre not, then da vida means 'gives life' in espanol, although gadda isnt a word
