I love this song. I can 100% relate to it, because I used to be shy and had a crush like that.

how come nobody comments on the fact that "in see that you get home alright, make sure that you can't see me...." clearly means that he is following her home and hiding while watching her. This song is about a STALKER. Yes he cares for her and is shy etc., but it is an obsession that he takes to far. And he clearly says he he's only obsessed by her looks, he doesn't even care about HER at all.

This song has nothing to do with being shy. Being shy is just and excuse. This song is about Dana O'Hara.

Come on guys, he just sees a girl that has an appearance kind of similar of Dana O'Hara. Then he keeps going to this coffee shop to remember Dana.

He never spoke to this girl in real life.

He is remembering Dana, over and over and over and over again, through all his miserable life. Did you ever hear Letter to Dana? This guy sent letters even when they were old. Dana died and he still wrote a letter.

hey there everybody....well in this part of the song "You can't be acting like my Dana.."dose this have any relation to the sone Letter to Dana?! and also the song Last Drop Falls? in this 2 songs he seem's to talk about a girl that had lost her way and gone with the sin....any hints or clues?.....is this Dana mean's anything to Tony Kakko the vocal?

That brings me to a question about a character that´s been in, mentioned in, well one song was dedicated to the character and mentioned in another and that is "Dana O'Hara". It´s in "Letter To Dana" and it´s in "Shy" from successor and there´s a line in there: "You can´t be acting like my Dana.. I was wondering if this character is made up or is it based on any real person that you know of?

No, I don´t think any people that I know actually know my music. I won't use anybody's names and their reference is there but only they can notice maybe. But Dana....whew...X-Files! (both laughing) I needed a name [Letter to Scully (laughs] I thought Dana would be nice. It was written back when it was a new series I think. So when I went and wrote the track "Shy" I put the same name there and to see if people will notice it....and they have! This is a very popular question y'know? [I bet! The lyrics do sound like a true, but sad, story].

ok that's it......there's no god damn real dana!!!
