Atmospheric Conditions Lyrics
there's nobody
there's no mountain
there's no tunnel
you can't get from there to here
you can't get from here to there
[repeat]
there hasn't been a change in the atmostphere
(nothing twistin round, burnin down, come around)
there hasn't been a change for over a year
(slidin through, divided through, hiding you)
there hasn't been a change in the atmostphere
(shut it up, rollin up, finding you)
pull the tap
just a tad
(gypsy haircut)
there's no atmosphere
(a bearskin rug, the tambourines)
dig a tunnel through the mountain (black piano on the mountain)
how many the atmospheres are out there
(there's a broken bottle...in the tunnel)
there's a tunnel from there to here
cut your hand on the atmosphere
split in two
bandaids on your hand
split the atmosphere
split in two
staring at you
there's no mountain
there's no tunnel
you can't get from there to here
you can't get from here to there
[repeat]

am i the only one with this damn cd
No, I got it and this is my favorite song off the album.
And I thought I was the only one that liked this song.
I have no clue what the Hell its supposed to be about.
More post-apocalyptic futility, but this sounds oddly joyous, religious even. I think that deep voice is Calvin Johnson from Beat Happening.
I love the CD and this is my favorite song off it. probvably about a strange stillness and calm that isn't regular and might mean somethng and i have no idea what the cutting your hand part is.
Definitely my favourite song off the album...for some reason it's really stunningly beautiful. I went to a therapeutic camp out in Hawaii a while ago and my friend and I would always play this song there. He would play guitar and sing the low part while I did the harmony. Listening to it makes me feel really nostalgic. It was really tough there, and this song was kind of a reminder to everyone that things were always going to be just the way they were and to worry less. Conclusion = Beck is God.
