“Here I Stand Before Me” is a science song. It's pretty adorable and walks that line between a kid's song and I dunno, Blues Traveler comes to mind. Member dem? Member? The chorus here mentions the mind's eye, the place in your head where images are recalled and created. It's a simple idea of reoccurring nightmares upon seeing an X-ray of his skeleton, possibly understanding his mortality. One day the organs that work completely on their own will cease to perform their involuntary actions. The event causes all this self-awareness about the body at a young age (or maybe last week before they recorded the song).
