Falling Out Of Love (With You) Lyrics
in an old silverline
i was yours, you were mine
i was hoarse, you were mean
we designed drum machines
but every day in every way
im falling out of love with you
every kiss means less and less
im falling out of love with you
every hour kills a flower
im falling out of love with you
you just bore me more and more
im falling out of love with you
they made sounds much like drums
i was young you were dumb
now youre older and im wiser
we design synthesizers
but every day in every way
im falling out of love with you
every kiss means less and less
im falling out of love with you
every hour kills a flower
im falling out of love with you
you just bore me more and more
im falling out of love with you
i was yours, you were mine
i was hoarse, you were mean
we designed drum machines
im falling out of love with you
every kiss means less and less
im falling out of love with you
every hour kills a flower
im falling out of love with you
you just bore me more and more
im falling out of love with you
i was young you were dumb
now youre older and im wiser
we design synthesizers
im falling out of love with you
every kiss means less and less
im falling out of love with you
every hour kills a flower
im falling out of love with you
you just bore me more and more
im falling out of love with you

I know this song from The Adventures of Pete & Pete, and I think it's one of the most beautiful sounding songs I've ever heard. The meaning is pretty obvious, it's about falling out of love with someone. But to me this song just reminds me of my childhood because of Pete & Pete.
"Every hour kills a flower." Great line. Sung by Dean Wareham of the band Luna. Check them out also.
the lyrics were written by Stephan Merrit (SP?) anyways check out the magnetic fields if you want to find some more of his stuff. this song rox btw.
stephin merrit's a GENIUS! this song is so pretty.
but where the hell can i get it?
This song has been covered by Tullycraft and Basil the Mouse. I rather like Tullycraft's version. Great song. Stephin Merritt is indeed a genius. I just saw the Magnetic Fields live last week.
This song really is beautiful, just like all of Merritts stuff. "but every day in every way im falling out of love with you every kiss means less and less im falling out of love with you every hour kills a flower im falling out of love with you you just bore me more and more im falling out of love with you"
It is my goal to fall more out of love with someone this year. I've got the bore part. It's a real inspiration.
"they made sounds much like drums i was young you were dumb now youre older and im wiser we design synthesizers"
i really really don't get this part. any ideas anyone?
The first verse says they made drum machines, so in this verse he's saying the drum machines made sounds like drums. He was young she was dumb is just a line saying how better he is and also the older wiser part. Now that they've grown they design synthesizers. Sounds like a made up musical couple.

So before he fell out of love, it was hopeful despite whatever was bad.
