Paint It Black (Rolling Stones cover) Lyrics

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see teh girls welk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

I see a line of cars and they are painted black
with flowers and my love both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a new born baby it just happens every day

I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it's heading into black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black

I wanna see it painted painted, painted black, oh baby
I wanna see it painted painted, painted black, oh baby

No more will my green see go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee this hting happening to you
If I look hard enough into the setting sun
My love will laugh with me until the morning comes

I wanna see it painted painted, painted black, oh
Black as night, black as coal
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky
Painted painted, painted black oh baby
painted painted, painted black

Some people say her version is too dark, but personally I think it is a great cover. In some ways, I even like her version better because you can understand her singing better than Mick's.

I just saw her do this song live...it kicked ass. She put so much energy and passion into it...she wasnt even on her piano. She really revived this song...excellent cover!

This song was remade VERY well. I don't like the lyrics, though. It's honest to the point, and that's the plus, but it's also very negative and just....depressing. I mean, someone sees the beauty of the world and wants it to go away because they feel like crap. I think we've all been there, but good grief...

This song is awesome. I just love it when she starts rocking out. Awesome. Sometimes we all have days like this and I think it is important that she showed this side of her, even if it is through someone else's lyrics.

Yes, yes... this song is wonderful. I was scared that alot of people would be all negitive about it and I'd be in here talking about how great she sounds. I never thought that she could do a Jagger song but she really belted it out with enough emotion and (of course) a wonderful voice. I think this one is what the radio should be playing more of. It's great. :D
