Prince Lyrics

Willing and able to run
I am
Willing and able
I'm able to come
I am
Willing and able to run
I am
Willing and able
I'm able to come

And if I wait for you now
Would you come
Would you run
Would you bring it back around
Oh, baby how
And if I wait for you now
Would you come
Would you run
Would you bring it back around
Oh, baby how

Willing and able to run
I am
Willing and able
I'm able to come

If it all went away
Nothing left to say
Would you fight it or would you lay down
At the hand of your God could you see the light
Oh my prince can't you see what's been found

Willing and able to run
Willing and able to come
Willing and able to run
I am willing, I am willing
Willing, willing

Willing and able to run
I am
Willing and able
I'm able to come
I am
Willing and able to run
I am
Willing and able
I'm able to come

And if I wait for you now
Would you come
Would you run
Would you bring it back around
Oh, baby how
And if I wait for you now
Would you come
Would you run
Would you bring it back around
Oh, baby how

Willing and able to run
I am
Willing and able
I'm able to come
I am
Willing and able to run
I am
Willing and able
I'm able to come

This song is about letting a guy know that you aren't this helpless female in love. You can decide totally on your own whether you're gonna stay with him or leave, and right now, you want to stay. But first, she wants to know what his story is. She doesn't want to jump in head-over-heels for this guy who won't be there to catch her.

This is definetely one of my favourite songs by Nessa..I love the way her voice sounds in it. I never really understood what it ment, but what alabaster sounds pretty accurate.

I definitely love this song. I don't know what it is but it's just one of those wierd songs that you can't stop listening to. Again, I agree wth alabaster cause I'm to lazy to write down exactly what it means to me!

I disagree somewhat with alabaster. To me, it's about being head over heels, willing to run (elope) with this prince, a guy with lots of political/professional/etc demands of himself. She's asking him to give it up and run away with her, can't he see what's been found between them? I think it's very analogous to More Than This, or more broadly, All You Need Is Love. The "prince" metaphor is especially well-crafted, I think, calling forth feelings of attractiveness, wealth, charisma, and political dedication. "At the hand of your God, could you see the light?" is brilliantly clever (get it? brilliant?), in that the Prince has made social perfection his God, and that helped bring about their love, the bliss/light that's worth more than any perfection or achievement.

Alabaster's right, however, that there is a definite feel of confidence and almost an ultimatum. They've found magic together, but as Alabaster put it, she wants to be convinced that he'll catch her when she falls. In a way, it's about making himself prove how much he values what they have. If he can't do that, she'll leave, but if he'll run/come, she's willing and able (for now). This theme also fits fascinatingly in with the power dynamic that his royalty implies, with her flouting his arbitrary birthrights.

As a last side-note, the "oh my prince can't you see what's been found?" line from the House of Blues show is pure eargasm
