All That I Know Lyrics
all we are is part of everything
it's out of our control and i'll say
all you need to know is anything
that's happening is happening
all the ships in the ocean
outside my window under the moon
all the lights in the harbor
keep me from sleeping, keep me from dreaming (oh no!)
all that i know
all we are is part of everything
it's out of our control and i'll say
all you need to know is anything
that's happening is happening
all the ships in the ocean
outside my window under the moon
all the lights in the harbor
keep me from sleeping, keep me from dreaming
keep a light on in the window
for the time that i am gone
and when this song is over
you will never be alone
keep your head up
so you know
when you wake up
i'll be home
all the ships in the ocean
outside my window, under the moon
all the lights in the harbor keep me from sleeping
keep me from dreaming (oh no!)
all that i know
it's everything i know
it's out of our control and i'll say
all you need to know is anything
that's happening is happening
all the ships in the ocean
outside my window under the moon
all the lights in the harbor
keep me from sleeping, keep me from dreaming (oh no!)
all that i know
all we are is part of everything

i just wanted to say i think this song is great and the maturing of the get up kids style has me hooked forever, i love how jim suptic sings this and campfire kansas, i wonder if he wrote both of them. my girlfriend says if they had jim sing full time she would be a big fan.
holy beatles. Tell me this doesn't sound like some kind of Beatles song. It's good though. very catchy. I like it. This CD is a lot different than their past ones. I like how they try new sounds, but it's always good.
i love this song and the new cd is so amazing!!! I can wait to see then June 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This new disc was a huge disappointment. It's so corporate and clean. This song is just another example of a good punk band gone very very bad...oh well. First Alkaline Trio, now the Get Up Kids. I still have Jawbreaker. Least they had the decencey to breakup before releasing crappy albums like this one.
The Get Up Kids were a punk band? Hehe, sorry but I don't think they have ever claimed the title "punk" or even "emo" for that matter. They exploded with the whole midwest emo thing but they have never really clung to a speciffic title. The new album rocks, the old albums rock.
the guk have been labled many times as an 'emo' band. and im sure if asked they would agree. now reggie and the full effect is theyre acception. ps:are we talking about the battle school wiggin or the speaker wiggin?
I'm sure if you asked them, they'd NEVER say tey were Emo...for some reason there's not a single so-called emo band who wishes to be called that...let's just call it music. Besides, I don't think they made this album this way to get more money, I just think (after STWHA) they had a little more to spend on production and gear, and I think thát is what makes it sound so "clean" (besides, to me that's not a bad thing)
actually, i think they would be okay with being called emo...they
re on an emo compilation by vagrant records (obviously considering thats they`re record label) called another year on the streets volume 2.forum, def agree with ur comparison to the beatles. even the theme.."all we are is part of everything" is similar to many beatles themes. nice observation>...
yeah, when i first heard it..i thought it as beatles-esque.. as for the emo thing....i believe i read somewhere about how they don't call/consider themselves emo. imma stop before i get into my big emo-is-not-a-genre rant.
