12:14 hits 12:15 quickly as I hear
The sounds of people's voices who i used to find so real
So sweet, so pure, so refined and so clear
Your scent and your touch are all I need to feel
NOT DREAMING, NOT THINKING, JUST DROWNING AND SINKING
HOPING FOR A BREATH OF AIR
(Someone to save me)
BELIEVING AND SEEING THE WAYS YOU'RE DECIEVING
IS THIS HELD WITHOUT A CARE?
(Everything's on me)
Fading away in the crashing of the waves
Dying just to feel you here
In the confort of my arms
And as I slip and fall into the ocean deep
I can feel you with me, and I sense no harm
Watching the waves crashing overhead
Thinking of the ways I could have made this better
Feeling my living self become dead
Wanting to feel this free forever
Will I fall into the seas of your misfortune?
I'll try to hold my breath
1,000 times
Before I start to close my eyes
I'll picture your face in my mind
And my dying lips will be forced to crack a smile
Not feeling, not thinking, just drowning and sinking
WANTING ONLY TO FEEL THIS FREE FOREVER

i can positively feel this song. i can feel it to the extent of pain. what it means to me is that you're only reaching for something, a feeling, for such a long time. and then you reach it but once you're there you know it has to end because everything ends sometime. it's that bittersweet realization of finality. that's what i feel. great lyrics and brilliant imagery.

Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
