I've Got To See You Again Lyrics
Lines on your face don't bother me
Down in my chair when you dance over me
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
Late in the night when I'm all alone
And I look at the clock
And I know you're not home
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
I could almost go there
Just to watch you be seen
I could almost go there
Just to live in a dream
But no, I won't go for any of those things
To not touch your skin is not why I sing
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
I could almost go there...
No, I won't go to share you with them
But oh, even though I know where you've been
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
Down in my chair when you dance over me
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
And I look at the clock
And I know you're not home
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
I could almost go there
Just to watch you be seen
I could almost go there
Just to live in a dream
To not touch your skin is not why I sing
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
But oh, even though I know where you've been
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again

has anyone except me taken notice that this song is about a stripper? I understand that some of Norah's band members write her songs and this one, obviously, was written by a man about a dancer.
hmm why couldn't norah have written this song about a guy stripper? oh well i like it,it sounds kinda flamenco style to me... oh well any who..
Whoo Hoo...I added a song! I love this one. I think everyone can relate. There is always someone out there that you'll want to see again and again.
Thanks for adding these lyrics!! I have been looking for Norah Jones' lyrics everywhere, and they are so hard to find!
wow i never saw it that way but the minute i read your post it made so much sense! well anywho...i lov this song! it so...i dunno....sensual kinda music. makes ya wanna dance. :D
OMG! This is one sexy song! You know what I mean. Even though this song isn't gonna send anyone into overdrive, it's lust and desire can simmer anyone. It's jazzy beats and melody is great. I think this song was also used on the Style Network. I'm not sure, but I vaguely think it was featured in a runway show. Anyway, this is an incredibly sexy song.
Part of what makes it erotic is that she is singing about a woman. I like that... personally. I awoke to hear her singing this live on Leno last night. Had never heard it. Was astounded by it's elegance and her stunning voice. Bought the CD today and have played this song about 40 times. Seriously. Called my boyfriend and had great phone sex to it. The rest of the aCD is a bit too country for my taste but this song rocks.
Another obsession song. It has lasted a long time and they have both gotten older. Doesn't matter. She is singing about a performer who she is able to watch without being seen. Could be a singer, too. You are able to drink them in with your eyes and that is enough. She doesn't like always having to share him with his audience but is willing to do that if it's the only way she can see him..
Great sleezy love song! I DO get the feeling this is about a stripper, but it could just be a metaphor. Besides, she could just be telling a story from a guy's (or woman's, I suppose) point of view about being addicted to one girl at the club (I can definitely see that happening with some older lonely man).
I never thought of this as a song about a stripper...but I suppose it could be. I feel this song SO DEEP because I'm dating a performer...and before he was my boyfriend it felt different going to his shows (he plays guitar not a stripper!)...but even now, it's watching an image, watching what everyone else sees in him but there's so much that they will never know or appreciate~it's like a dreamworld focusing on that one aspect...I don't know...I probably don't make any sense, but I definitely feel this song. Watching other people hungry for that one person that you love...it's torture, but also addictive.
