for me, this song has a lot of symbolism. the sun represents a girl's availibility, and when it's up, she is single. but he doesn't really seem to notice or care when the sun is "up". but when the sun goes "down", or she starts to see someone, he wants to get with her. this happens a few times, and he realizes that he never goes after her until he can't have her. that's just what i got from it. listen to the movielife

The meaning behind the song is lost love, IMO. I’ll use a guy as an example. He is always longing for the girl that he once had and lost, that he was in love with. Maybe in his younger years, since everyone has that one person. And he keeps searching for her, maybe in other people, maybe just longing for her, hoping she will come back someday. But every time, he is let down at the end of the day, because it never happens.
