Let The Bad Times Roll Lyrics
Well, the good times hide.
And so do I.
Out of my control
I dig a hole.
I'm gonna let the bad times roll.
I'm gonna let the bad times roll.
If that's all the time
that you've got.
Then, I'd rather not.
Waste my life on hold.
I'm gonna let the bad times roll.
I'm gonna let the bad times roll.
Just add water,
I'm disappointed.
Just like my father,
I missed the point.
I need someone,
not infection.
Just add water,
I'm disappointed.
The good times hide.
So will I.
Watch the world roll by.
From my hole.
I'm gonna let the bad times roll.
I'm gonna let the bad times roll.
And so do I.
Out of my control
I dig a hole.
I'm gonna let the bad times roll.
that you've got.
Then, I'd rather not.
Waste my life on hold.
I'm gonna let the bad times roll.
I'm disappointed.
Just like my father,
I missed the point.
I need someone,
not infection.
Just add water,
I'm disappointed.
So will I.
Watch the world roll by.
From my hole.
I'm gonna let the bad times roll.

This song is about depression. When youre good times end what comes? The bad. After life is said and done and youve lived it the way you did, it has an outcome that you are upset or mad with. I relate to this song, cause when youre down, youre down. So just let it all hang out. Be beast, dont be yourself. Let yourself bleed, wallow in your sorrow cause you can. Dont wallow for attention wallow and be depressed cause your hurt or sad. Even blame it on your dad if you think he has something to do with the way you turned out. Screw you for teaching me my morales. I am my own pesron. And this is my sorrow song, if you dont like it then go to happy town. This is my dark corner and youre not invited. I feel like sleeping on the kitchen floor tonight, and tommorow I'll sleep in the backyard. Get the picture? Just let it all hang out. Youre depressed dont try to hide it with a fake smile. Become a beast!
The song is a play on the Cars "Let the Good Times Roll" which was released in 1978 when the Cars were new on the music scene. Westerberg wrote this song 20-25 years later. Perhaps as a slap to the fact that the Replacements and Westerberg never "hit the big time" like the Cars did. Westerberg is wallowing in his self pity in the song. But every Mats fan and Westerberg fan knows he DID hit the big time...we know it everytime we listen to one of his songs.
