Faction Lyrics
And I
I wonder if you'd understand
If I said I'll never go
Never go along again
And if I told you all that i believe in
And gave you all my reasons
and always had an answer
An honest answer for all of them
Sometimes you just want to belong at any loss or any cost
Yea I've
I've made mistakes before
But I just can't remember
Remember them anymore
And I've followed everyone's lead before
And I've made my own decisions
And I've never felt so strong before
I've never felt so strong before
Yea
Sometimes your best defense is a good reminder of your common sense oh yea
Strike a match and hope it lasts
Here's to following your own lead
It's the path that i have taken
After all the contemplation
It's the promise I have made
I hope it lasts
I wonder if you'd understand
If I said I'll never go
Never go along again
And if I told you all that i believe in
And gave you all my reasons
and always had an answer
An honest answer for all of them
I've made mistakes before
But I just can't remember
Remember them anymore
And I've followed everyone's lead before
And I've made my own decisions
And I've never felt so strong before
I've never felt so strong before
Yea
Here's to following your own lead
After all the contemplation
It's the promise I have made
I hope it lasts

Probably my favourite Less Than Jake song of all time. In my eyes LTJ's lyrics have always been the strongest part of their music. I really don't think they get enough credit especially with songs such as "Faction, Al's War, Scott Farcas Takes It On The Chin, Escape From The A-Bomb House, Last Hour Of The Last Day Of Work, and The Rest Of My Life".
the part where it says "Sometimes you just want to belong" is what gets me the whole song in my opinion is just about wanting to fit in and be accepted, being kinda depressed and just looking for things to go good in your life. a song I completely relate too.
probably the most honest song ever written. Vinnie deserves all the over-praise for penning this. All these kids write and listen to all the punk songs they want and say fuck the world i don't need anyone and crap. but when it all comes down to it, it's cuz they were shut out first. Everyone makes a struggle to me normal once in your life, no matter how radicial you say your belifs are.
best song on borders and boundaries, easy
nope, i'd have to go with "last hour of the last day of work", or "look what happened". tough call.
yeah those are my three favorites on that Album
i sat and listened to this song in regret after i got in a lotta trouble last year... then i played it for my mom.. my way of apologizing and saying i'd change. i like getting my point across thru songs... its great
I'm gonna go ahead and agree about it being the best song on the ablum. It's really the only good clean ska song on the album. Other than that, i have nothing new to add.
i cant say its the best song on album but defintly up there. i just wana say that antisound is completely right. after hereing all these lies in other punk songs its could to see some fucking honesty. well said antisound!
Tis amazing
"Sometimes, you just want to belong" - nuff said for the problem in this song. But this isn't just approaching the problem, it offers a solution!
"I've made my own decisions, And I've never felt so strong before" "Sometimes your best defense is a good reminder of your common sense" "So strike a match and hope it lasts, here's to following your own lead."
Even though you're left out, you can't sell yourself short to being someone you're not. You have to do what's best for yourself - don't let others determine who you are. Especially when it's hurting you.
