I took my girl to go bowling downtown at the red door
After and argument I started cause I thought she didn't like me anymore

I was sorry to interrupt their game but I went and did it anyway.

i love the irony of the "stand by your man" pinball machine. something tells me that jack is kind of insecure when it comes to love. in lots of his songs he always talks about messing up, and ruining a relationship, just because he had no confidence. like in this song, where he basically killed this relationship because he thinks the girl is too good for him. and then, in "a martyr for my love for you", he's basically saying that he's learned now that he needs to back away from relationships, to stop himself from screwing them up. i love that man. :)
haha, it may be spoken word, but this song has some great guitar work and acoustics. Jack and Meg did a fine job with this one. This song is on a compliation called "Hot Pinball Rock" released back during the time of Their self titled debut.

this is friggin hilarioius. I love the way he does the spoken word so blankly, like he doesn't care that his girl left him. He sounds so emotionless
If you really want it, look for the album White Blood Cells. I bought mine, and it had a DVD attached that had the band's first four music videos, Lafayette Blues, and Hand Springs. It's a nice treat
