Mr. E. Leon Rauis Lyrics

I keep pictures of him in my mind yeah you know the
kind they curl up on the edges, the corners are bended
into a trickpulled from behind.

Physically he is serene he looks good he looks
clean yeah I know he's dead but I know what he
said and I think I might know what he mean.

With many thanks for your well, well wishes he says
believe me, sincerely yours
Mr. E Leon Rauis would say
it's sentiment which he abhors.

Seventeen Union Square North did he walk back and
forth in the glass at the shop did he smile did he
stop for awhile did he question his worth?

Seventeen Union Square West dressed up looking his best
Mr. E. Leon Rauis could never know
how this would seem his one small request.

With many thanks for your well, well wishes he says
believe me, sincerely yours
Mr. E Leon Rauis would say
it's sentiment which he abhors.

Regretfully so he still wants you to know of the
things in his heart he can't say.

His penmenship does a disservice,
It's illegible to this day.

Oh, Mr. E. Leon Rauis believe me
I hope it all turned out O.K.

Picking a shop for the shoot did he buy a new
suit? was he tall, was he kind, did he finally
find it that day, was his end absolute?

He got old like everyone, was he somebody's
son? did he fall, did he try to succeed or deny
what he knew or things he had done?

I think this is one of their most beautiful songs. It's very clear cut what its about. But italso expresses one of the thoughts I've had since I was a kid: We don't get to leave much behind. A name on a tombstone, a photo to be found in an attic, but in a hundred years will anyone know who we were? Do we know everyone who lived back then? They're just names and faces and we'll never really know... (Was he somebody's son? did he fall, did he try to succeed or deny what he knew or things he had done?)

Melora found an old whithered photo of a Mr. E. Leon Rauis in an attic. She decided to devote herself to his & wrote a song about what him and what he had said on the back of the photo. I have to agree that Mr. E. Leon Rauis is the sexiest man to ever die.

Beautiful lyrics, I love it. And I must agree with artstar, he was a damn sexy individual.

It's too bad they don't make 'em like that anymore.

hmm i like this song. every random photo of some random strange person you glance at... you gotta think wow. i wonder how they felt when this photo was taken? i wonder what their life was like. who are they? are they still alive, did they die like thirty seconds after this photo was taken. where were they that day? where were they headed. why? and its like stuff you never think to ask. and since hypothetically everyone is connected by six or less degrees (like bacon numbers) you have to wonder how this person was related to you. for all you know his neighbors dog was adopted from the same shelter as your cousin's dog's grandma or something. but usually when i find a picture of someone i dont even think of things like this it kind of is just interesting
