Choking Tara Lyrics
Days into weeks
She rattled my mind
We stayed out all week
And got happy this time
She fills empty space
I kinda need it that way
Crybaby says bye to me
I can't imagine that all our troubles will go away
But I could catch her and break the falls
I could snatch her with breaks and claws
Today when every "fake it"
Decides to make it
They just can't take it away
Shove it, cus I'll just stay
Like an ugly unwanted stray
Don't care what you say
(Intermission)
(No more skinny cheeks
and distributors of poison)
She rattled my mind
We stayed out all week
And got happy this time
She fills empty space
I kinda need it that way
Crybaby says bye to me
I can't imagine that all our troubles will go away
But I could catch her and break the falls
I could snatch her with breaks and claws
Today when every "fake it"
Decides to make it
They just can't take it away
Shove it, cus I'll just stay
Like an ugly unwanted stray
Don't care what you say
(Intermission)
(No more skinny cheeks
and distributors of poison)

I am really curious as to why this song is called "Choking Tara". Anyone else?
Hmm- it's a beautiful song, isn't it, probably should have been on 'Human Amusements At Hourly Rates'. The title suggests - perhaps - that he's killed Tara? A crime passionelle, maybe? It's quite a sinister melody.
Both the original and "creamy version" of this one are just excellent.
...yeah definitely possessive impulses and domestic violence perhaps.
I don't think the title has much to do with the subject matter of the song. It seems to at first be referring to a new love and then rails against posers.
Had this song in the forefront of my brain for a while. It's beautiful. Here's my take.
It's about an on/off relationship. We stayed out all week and got happy this time - note the 'this time' - this has happened before and will again
He needs her around simply because she fills an empty spot in his life, and he sort of needs it that way, but she is always saying bye to him
He keeps trying to keep the relationship going and break her falls, even though he knows the troubles between them will never go away
But then realizes he's sort of being used as much as he is using her so he's out, shove it
Yeah um maybe i don't know, am i projecting?
