it seems like this is in memory of a best friend or family member that has passed on... but the way it's written also seems like maybe it could be about his first true love.
Yeah.. pretty much about keeping someone in your memory. I think its about a first love too. Or a best friend. Either way its about someone who was always there to help him through, but isnt there anymore.

Probably my favorite verse of any Tiger Army song. He sings it with such meaning.
I personally think this song is about music. Its about how music influenced Nick so much, and how it's helped him through crazy times, and how it's been a reason for him to hold on. " Where would i have ended up without you? " seems to be a reference that without music, he would have a completely different life. At least thats my interpretation.
