Shadows Lyrics
Scold me, that's all you've got to say
Coldly, hurt me and turn away
You say, "I'm not sorry yet" I'm resigned to what is next
I head for the shadow
Hold me taking it back through tears
You've told me, slowly confessed your fears
But I've got myself to protect. It's too soon for me to forget
I'll wait in the shadows
In the shadows
Though I am alone
They help me, see that I'm the only one in your heart
So until I truly believe that your words convey what you mean
I'll wait in the shadows (2x)
I don't mind the shadows.
Coldly, hurt me and turn away
You say, "I'm not sorry yet" I'm resigned to what is next
I head for the shadow
Hold me taking it back through tears
You've told me, slowly confessed your fears
But I've got myself to protect. It's too soon for me to forget
I'll wait in the shadows
In the shadows
Though I am alone
They help me, see that I'm the only one in your heart
So until I truly believe that your words convey what you mean
I'll wait in the shadows (2x)
I don't mind the shadows.

this song to me means she can't take his word, so she just watches from the shadows his actions to see if they match up with his words and while in the shadows she sees that he does love her but still it's not enough because of the previous pain he's put on her. "so until I truly believe, that your words convey what you mean, I'll wait in the shadows."
could be totally wrong, but that's how i relate to it.
I have 2 theories on this song... maybs Its speaking through an opposite point of view. I can relate to this very well... Its like this person speaking is talking as if he were the other person (possibly a love) who he's hurt, and is sort of mockingly saying "Yea, I hurt you, I'm sorry, you're thinking about this all wrong"
Or maybe its speaking to a person who loves this other person... but keeps getting hurt... and is trying to stay away... and cant believe anything the other person says, because things keep getting fucked up.
I'm only posting this here because there's no way to get the lyrics for everyday. it seems like a lot of their songs would be good on a soundtrack to a movie with a scene that involves an underground city...in my opinion
Whenever I hear this song, I can't help but think it's secretly about Ira beating Georgia and she having to hide in shadows to avoid him.
However, I seriously doubt he's beating her.
Reminds me of 'Close Every Door' from Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat. :)
"so until I truly believe, that your words convey what you mean, I'll wait in the shadows."
Genius
Does anybody know what movie I know this song from?
I found it in a short movie called She doesn't love me, by Martin Piroyansky, it's very good, and in youtube

I know exactly what this song means because I am going through it right now. He has hurt her- she confronted him about her hurt feelings hoping for a resolution- thinking he loves her enough to work it out and instead he gets mad (scolds her) and refuses to apologize - he either thinks she's over-reacting (doesn't take her feelings seriously- devalues her) or his pride won't let him. So she's just going to blend in the shadows- step away until he is ready to sincerely apologize and understand her feelings. Sucks to love someone, have them lash out at you then refuse to apologize- especially when you were so fucking down for them. I'm not holding my breath, but I definitely retreated to the shadows.
