False Messiah Lyrics

Come to me my disciples
Said the stranger who came
Healed the sick, fed the poor
Spread the joy and the cure

He will rule our land
With his leading hand
We'll achieve our deliverance
Is it just an illusion
Or the mass confusion?
Is it just the work of the False Messiah?

Victims of mass confusion
Fools will follow this man
He leads us to destruction
Tending us to damnation

He will rule our land
With his leading hand
We'll achieve our deliverance
Is it just an illusion
Or the mass confusion?
Is it just the work of the False Messiah?

Come to me my disciples
Said the stranger who came
Healed the sick, fed the poor
Spread the joy and the cure

He will rule our land
With his leading hand
We'll achieve our deliverance
Is it just an illusion
Or the mass confusion?
Is it just the work of the False Messiah?

I agree. And what I find interesting is this line:

"Fools will follow this man He leads us to destruction Tending us to damnation"

How would Jesus lead us to destruction? People who find Jesus change in a positive way. It's this world and it's people who lead us to destruction.

Nice guys though. Hanged out with the bassplayer 2 weeks ago at a festival where I played with my band, we had a great laugh!

My Opinion

I'm a Christian, to say the least. Now that we cleared that out, I DISAGREE with what the two people already said up there.

Why do we assume that the song is talking about Jesus? Will not the false messiah do exactly what Jesus did?! That is very Biblical! How else is he gonna fool people into following him.

Why I believe this song is NOT about Jesus is simply because it says that the false messiah will bring destruction, and I FAIL to see the destruction that Jesus did.

With all due respect to my brothers and sisters in...

This song clearly speaks about the pressure that Jesus suffered from all that man that feared what he was doing, man that was on top of society, man that used fear to preach religion and Jesus came and spread love for free, and cured the sick for free, and they saw it as the worst thing that could happen. The religious leaderes then gathered, in the beginning of the song in that instrumental confuse part, that is the religious leaderes gathering to speak, anxious, worried, so they start to quote Jesus and call him a stranger. Then they say what he has done, and it's only good things, but they see these things not as good things, but things that would make Jesus famous, gather followers, they did not see how he was doing good, because they've been living throgh corruption, they've been fooling people and fooling themselves, believing that, that was God wish, but deep inside they knew they were trying to be in the place of God, so when Jesus, the son of God, came to Earth, they feared, they didn't understood all that love, they thought that was not sacred, to them, rituals were sacred, not love, not mercy. The song clearly criticizes the religion thought that sometimes is confused with the divinity, with devotion to God, devotion to God is love, is hope, religion is politics, is rituals, is men doing, men wrongs interpretation of simple commandments that is love. To all those people that thinks this song satirizes Jesus, it does the extreme opposite, it shows how Jesus had extreme courage, guided by God, and how he suffered by those who gathered to plot his death, his destruction, but he did not stop by fear, he ended his mission and as we all know, we now have a chance to be saved and soon we will see our Lord Jesus, that taught everything good to us, taught us love and will give to those who undestand it, heaven, will give eternal peace.

Song Meaning
Cover art for False Messiah lyrics by Stratovarius

I think that Stratovarius had some really good metal songs with good messages. This song however, False Messiah, blatently lashes out at Jesus Christ. The sarcasism in this song is ironic because it's the truth in real life: Jesus died for our sins and if we accept His sacrifice, we will recieve eternal life. If you read this today and you don't know if you are going to Heaven when you die, say this prayer and sincerely mean it in your heart:

"Dear Jesus, Thank you for dying on the cross for me Forgive me of my sins Cleanse me in your blood Give me new life in You Write my name in the Book of Life I Give my life to You Amen"

With all due respect to my brothers and sisters in Christ, think BIBLICALLY, FACTUALLY, align things with the Bible and see if they fit exegetically!!!!

Again, could this not be about the false messiah the Bible tells us about?

AND STOP SHOVING JESUS DOWN PEOPLE'S THROATS!!!!

From these lyrics and others it's evident Tolkki hates Jesus and directs his anger and pain (or else he wouldn't have submitted himself to a mental clinic) towards Him.

Jesus is the only One who can save you. At it’s core The Bible is a story of love and redemption. Man can only be saved by grace through the blood of Christ; the elect are saved being called by Christ. He says that He stands with arms outstretched calling out to all, it’s those who respond to Him and give their life to Jesus and thereby His grace and not works or anything else are we saved.

Jesus states in Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

Christ wants us to give up the ways and things of the world and follow Him. Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

A groundwork for doing so is laid out in the next verse “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
