Tender Situation

I think the song's about getting so far gone in a trip that you feel like everything is an illusion, trying to "state your case" as to what is real if anything, and contemplating the importance of your life. You may feel like you have to "create a good illusion" to live your life as a normal person. It's a tender situation because you feel like you have undone your whole existence, and you are treading carefully to put it all together. "Taste the waste" is realizing how fake our lives can be, and the feeling that you are wasting it. "What's your place in my glorification" is wondering how you can live more true to your real self (god/oneness). Feeling the grip of your salvation is seeing something more true than anything in your life and feeling eternity. "Get off the pot man shake and bake" is saying to use your new knowledge to make a difference in the way you live based on what you've experienced. "Pump it up or stray from that old station" is saying to make the choice to stay how your are or apply what you have learned on the trip to your life.

This is pretty subjective, but I listened to this on my first real trip, and the words had a big impact on me. This is basically what they meant to me at the time. The words were my bible for about 8 hellish hours. The album version sounds all washed out and numb, which is about how I felt at the time.

wow the person above me i actually agree with a lot right on man i didnt think about it like that not exactly: my first impressoin of this song was just about society in general and ofcourse how fake our lives can be but i didnt see it how they were transcendental all i was thinkinga bout is how the world's fucked up and what's important is feeling the oneness of all life and similarities beteween us and a part of us as god, the fact that our humanity has been taken away i thought was the tender situation and the system puts on us a lot of thijngs to make us forget them; pot being one of them the lines feel the grip of your salvation and tasting the waste is all a a part of the recognition of the dehumanizing forces pushed on us from society and the government please nobody else lose their humanity and if anybody wants to debate ween sogns my screenname is ilikejazz123 and would greatly appreciate it ok bye!

Its also the idea that all egotistical life style is just an illusion created by man but i think beyond that they still believe in a oneness to all life and have faith and believe in salvation which i agree is the truth! peace out brothers!

to me this song is about just being high and sharing a general good "tender" time with friends, to me create a good illusion means to create a good high time... weather it be by yourself interpreting music or beatboxing with ur friends on the way back from a chinese restuaraunt...
