Counterfeit God Lyrics
(God No, God No) (God No, God No)
(God No, God No) (God No, God No)
Can't you see I feel your pain?
I've got Jesus running through my veins
In this hopeless life that's turned on you
Give yourself to me, I'll help you through
I feed off your unanswered fear
When visions of life's end appear
Hand over your will and then you'll see
Now get on your knees and worship me
(God No, God No)
Worship me (God No, God No)
On your knees
Worship me (God No, God No)
In this world when at it's best
Of never ending hate and death
Abandon all and trust in me
Escaping from reality
My world it has no space or time
The crippled walk and the sick feel fine
Hand over your will and then you'll see
Now get on your knees and worship me
(God No, God No)
Worship me (God No, God No)
On your knees
Worship me (God No, God No)
Beyond this wall of life unknown
I'll lead you where you need to go
Void of worry, stress and pain
Left with nothing but your name
We've washed your brain and cleansed your soul
Till' nothing's all you need to know
Hand over your will and then you'll see
Now get on your knees and worship me
(God No, God No)
Worship me (God No, God No)
On your knees
Worship me (God No, God No)
(God No, God No)
Worship me (God No, God No)
On your knees
Worship me (God No, God No)
(God No, God No) (God No, God No)

Agree with Sandman-X.

This song is one of the best metal songs ever made. I don't get it why people don't give any comments about bls. they're one of the best metal bands around. this song is so fuckin great and Zakk is a fuckin genius in playing solos. the whole song talks about all those relligious crap that these leaders force people to believe in 'em. I think. then he says fuck 'em all worship me
Uhm, no. First off, studio wise, BLS isn't really a 'band.' Zakk plays all the instruments, subtract a few cameos, except drums. Which, as of late, has been handled by Craig Nunemacher. Counterfiet god is a song about people using religions as a means of lying and control. Example, preachers touring the country wanting your money. You go to their services, they say for a certain fee, they'll heal you. "The crippled walk and sick feel fine"
It's about 'men of god' lying and cheating for means of money, among other things. Falls hand-in-hand with Miracle Man, which Zakk co-wrote with Ozzy. Zakk's not trying to play god with this song. He's actually downplaying people who play god.
theres nothing anti-religious about this song, it simply condemns humans who make themselves to be like gods
i'll agree with Sandman-X on this one..but my step bro read that it was about sum dude who claimed he could do all of this bullshit and that he was sum sort of saint or sum bullshit like that...and Zakk Wylde got pissed at him and pretty much bombed the fuck out of him (or them) w/this song...but its pretty much the same shit that Sandman said...people i'm PRETTY DAMN SURE get the wrong impression of this song when they first hear it....i sure did...but i personally thought it was about the devil and his false and empty promises....hey...if you think about it...it could work that way too....
One Of My Favorite Black Label Society Songs One Of the Best Songs Ever Written
Gee,I wonder how some people get the wrong idea....
Anyways, awesome and very true song, makes me think of all those idiots that demand money for healing on TV.
Believe it or not Zakk Wylde is a Christian....so nothing blasphemes on this track....Great track!
The song is awesome however there are parr’s of the song that are missing
