I Just Want You Lyrics

There are no unlockable doors
There are no unwinable wars
There are no unrightable wrongs
Or unsingable songs
There are no unbeatable odds
There are no believable gods
There are no unnameable names
Shall I say it again, yeah

There are no impossible dreams
There are no invisible seams
Each night when the day is through
I don't ask much I just want you
I just want you

There are no uncriminal crimes
There are no unrhymable rhymes
There are no identical twins or forgivable sins

There are no incurable ills
There are no unkillable thrills
One thing and you know it's true,
I don't ask much, I just want you

I just want you I just want you I just want you

I'm sick and tired of bein' sick and tired
I used to go to bed so high and wired,
yeah - yeah, yeah, yeah
I think I'll buy myself some plastic water
I guess I should have married Lennon's daughter,
yeah - yeah, yeah, yeah

There are no unachievable goals
There are no unsaveable souls
No legitimate kings or queens,
do you know what I mean? Yeah

There are no indisputable truths
And there ain't no fountain of youth
Each night when the day is through,
I don't ask much, I just want you

I just want you I just want you I just want you I just want you I just want you. Yeah, yeah, yeah I just want you I just want you, Hey, yeah I just want you. Yeah, yeah, yeah I just want you, hey I just want you I just want you

The 'Lennon's daughter' part is in my opinion a reference to death, kinging the bucket. Lennon had two sons and was killed young before he could have a daughter, so his 'daughter', his alegoric feminine offspring, is death itself. In the 90's, this would have been instantly intuitive to someone in the music business who lived though the exceptionally shocking events related to Lennon's assassination a decade prior.

The verses surrounding the reference further emphasize this interpretation:

"sick and tired of bein' sick and tired // I used to go to bed so high and wired,"

  • i.e, he used to live life to the highest intensity, booze, drugs and partying, and now he's a recovering addict who must live out his depression and withdrawal symptoms;

"I think I'll buy myself some plastic water"

  • lamenting sarcastically on his present situation where bottled water is his only allowed "high"

"I guess I should have married Lennon's daughter, "

  • Maybe I was better off dead instead of going tough this

... but, I still hang on to something, I find one meaning in my life: I dream of you there are no impossible dreams.

This is my favourite Ozzy song ever! Hes a bloody genius...or he was.

He says so many great things in this song that make so much sense. But it doesn't matter.... he just wants one thing...you. :)

yo the lenon's daughter thing has been bothering me for two years! the only thing i could think of is that ozzy was/is a huge beatless fan so he could be a) paying homage or b) commenting on his folly as a musician as going the route he did. or it just rhymed...shrug

This song seems like it doesnt make sense if you think life is perfect.....haha dont think any1 does. I think if you really jus let your self go and listen to it you would understand how great of a song it is. Ozzy and Jim Vallance can make some awesome songs that really touch ppl IF PPL WOULD LET THEM ( im talken mentally ppl).
