Brother, can you hear me?
Your life is in my hands
I will not surrender, never yield to his demands
If we stand together, we will never fall
Brother, we're the answer to your call

Brother, can you hear me?
You must not be afraid
I will march beside you
Have no fear
Be strong
Be brave

We sing this song for freedom
Our voices will resound
Brother, we will never let you down

On the road to revolution
We're bound to make mistakes
There's a price that we must pay
For every choice we make

Freedom is the reason
To stand up or give in
But someone has to lose
And someone has to win

Brother, can you hear me?
I am not afraid
I will not forsake you
I'll be strong and I'll be brave

I sing the song for freedom
My courage knows no bounds
Brother, know I stand on solid ground
Brother, I will never let you down
Never let you down

This is the first song that Dream Theater wrote with someone that is not in the band.

It was written by John Myung and Desmond Child(the "'80s rock hit-maker"). DT's producer at that time, Kevin Shirley listened to the song and felt it needed stronger more powerful chorus and that's how Desmod got invovled and this master piece is the outcome. :)

-- This is, of course, not the meaning of this great song, just some background...

Bad by Dream Theater standards, but excellent by any other

This song is a bit too "pop" like... of course, for a rock song. Dream Theater really should've kept this a b-side I think... they would have been much better off with something like Eve. It's kinda catchy though... but not for Dream Theater fans. Of course, they know this already :P

Funny enough, though, this was their hit song on MTV back in the days... :)

I think Cover My Eyes could have possibly been in place of this song or maybe Take Away My Pain or Just Let Me Breathe. Yeah. Cover My Eyes instead of Just Let Me Breathe. I'm so burning Falling Into Infinity like that. It's too bad I'll never get to see Dream Theater on MTV or anything, I think that'd be pretty cool, lol. Not that I'd actually see any music on MTV anyway =P

If you ever get a chance, pick up Dream Theater's "Trial of Singles". Its a collection of demos and rare songs...They have the original of this on there, and IMO, the original blows this out of the water. The chorus, the most "pop" part is very different, there's another keyboard section...much better overall.

And, btw, Petrucci and Child wrote this, not Myung.

Like all other Dream Theater lyrics, these aren't much good, outside writer or not. There are much better ways of saying "I want to live my life, not yours."

    "Like all other DT lyrics?"

Are are you that songs such as "A Change of Seasons", "In the Name of God", "Learning to Live" and plenty others have /bad/ lyrics?

    I completely and utterly disagree.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
