Cellophane Girl Lyrics

your leaving me here
I want you to know that I
wanted you there
you were the best thing in my life
somehow I know
someone is on the other side
your turning me over
im letting you look, oh deep inside

cellophane girl
playing a part in a cellophane world
cellophane girl
see through me
see through me

hello there girl
you leave a sweet taste in my mouth
on the edge of the world
she rather jump then just look down
your taking me under
your leaving me dry
we coming up with lies and lies and lies and

cellophane girl
playing a part in a cellophane world
cellophane girl
see through me
see through me
see through me
see through me

your leaving me here
I want you to know that I
wanted you there
you were the best thing in my life
somehow I know
someone is on the other side
your turning me over
im letting you look deep inside

cellophane girl
playing a part in a cellophane world
cellophane girl
see through me
see through me
see through me
see through me

I dedicate this song to my G/f in Texas... Kristen i miss you so much i wish you just move back... when they sing "you were the best thing in my life" it always makes me think of you. this is an awsome song from an awsome group

awww thats sweet!! gosh i wish she would move back for you too!! trust me i know what its like to have your signifigant other to move away. i live in dallas and he moved to LA.. my story doesnt end there though. he died in a horribe car accedent but he was gone from me for a year before that. and it was horrible.. so the best of luck to yall getting close to each other again!.. btw.. this song is awesome!

I am sorry, but i think the last two comments are way off track. This song has more meaning than someone moving away. She is LEAVING him there. She left him, for someone else. somehow I know someone is on the other side she left him for someone else, and that is what happened to me, so i relate very well to this song. Not to mention it is great fun to play on the guitar!

this is the first song I heard by Graham Colton and I instantly fell in love. I cannot get enough of these guys!

I somewhat agree with Nixolas, about her leaving him because of someone else but I think that she may be leaving him because she (or someone else in her life) thinks that the other man is better for her, so she's playing the part of what others want her to do hence the name, "Cellophane Girl", not seeing through the crap that everyone is giving her and being with the person that she really loves.

that's all cute and everything neverenufrox.. and i hope you reunite with your girl. but this song is much deeper than missing someone. if you want shallow tunes like that.. listen to blink 182's "i miss you".. i agree with akelly to a degree.. i don't think it's so much that she isn't letting people decide what she should do so they CAN'T see through her.. i think it's about the guy who lost her because of another guy, and he sees through her lies and is the ONLY one who can really see who she REALLY is. cellophane is translucent.. meaning you can see through it.. as he can see through her.

ok so i met graham colton last summer at a show he did and i asked him what this song meant. he told me that he didn't know and that it didn't really have any special meaning, that it was just something he wrote when he was younger. so there you have it. from the artist himself this song has no specific meaning. still a good song though.

i think it's about a girl being fake around other people except her boyfriend. i'm probably way off, but whatever.

I'm confused by the less than subtle similarities in lyrics between this song and Best Thing. Which came first?
