Swindler Lyrics

I've been mistaken
You swindled once again
Now there's no question
I, I was wrong
And now I stand alone
Just ? your throne
Your true colors shown
You don't belong

And now I'm lost
And now I run from you
And now I see
Just how I bleed from you
And all the lies, all the lies
How could I let you in?
But now it's clear
I went along for the ride

Hey, Mr. Merry Man
I know you'll come again
Till you find just what you're looking for
And if I'm your little lamb
Oh, would you leave again?
Oh no, I bet you'd stay for more

And now I lost
And now I run from you
And now I see
Just how I bleed from you
And all the lies, all the lies
How could I let you in?
But now it's clear
I went along for the ride

And now I'm finding out
You were nothing about
What I thought you were
And now I understand
Just how you work your plan
First you're warm and then you just burn

And now I lost
And now I run from you
And now I see
Just how I bleed from you
And all the lies, all the lies
How could I let you in?
But now it's clear
I went along for the ride

And now I'll make my way
Through another day
'Cause I know better now
You'll drop another line
On someone else's time
But in me you still resound

And now I'm lost
And now I run from you
And now I see
Just how I bleed from you
And all the lies, all the lies
How could I let you in?
But now it's clear
I went along for the ride

I think this is about somebody who was in some sort of abusive relationship (the song implies with a guy, but I'm taking it as any sort of it). The person is absolutely sick and tired of it. She runs from the person who is abusing her. When the abuser comes crawling back to her, begging for forgiveness, she remembers all the wrongs he gave her, but she still can't completely hate him.

"You'll drop another line On someone else's time But in me you still resound"

This line represents on how the abuser is going onto another person, but the abused won't stand to see it done to another person. That, or when somebody does anything that remotely like the abuser, she gets paranoid and runs away.

This relates a lot to a problem I had with a supposed good friend of mine. I ended up in an abusive relationship, as I would apparently do something to upset her and she would drop me, then pick me up as a friend. I finally had enough of it and just left her. I can't really forgive her for what happened, but I can't completely hate her either.

I like this song live, though I also like the album version. She shows a lot of emotion in it, and it really makes you feel the song. It's great for singing along to.

You know, reading over my comment, I realize now how silly I was---I was thinking of another song on the album, "Wanted," but this song is also good. This song is unfortunately not on her album, but maybe it will be on the next album of hers.

the verse that starts with ," hey mr. merry man"...reminds me of the girl being used by a guy and she made him stop but she says that if she let him he would keep going.

Overall this is a wonderfull song, pretty easy to pick out on the piano a very catchy tune and rhythm, very hip and precise. I adore the lyrics they are so deep

It looks like a great song, but I don't know where to listen to it since it's not on her CD. Does anyone know how?

The word that goes in place of the "?" is "dent."
