Chelsea Girls Lyrics
Here's Room 506
It's enough to make you sick
Bridget's all wrapped up in foil
You wonder if she can uncoil.
Here they come now
See them run now
Here they come now
Chelsea Girls
Here's Room 115
Filled with S & M queens
Magic marker row
You wonder just high they go.
Here they come now
See them run now
Here they come now
Chelsea Girls
Here's Pope dear Ondine
Rona's treated him so mean
She wants another scene
She wants to be a human being.
Here they come now
See them run now
Here they come now
Chelsea Girls
Pepper she's having fun
She thinks she's some man's son
Her perfect love's don't last
Her future died in someone's past.
Here they come now
See them run now
Here they come now
Chelsea Girls
Dear Ingrid's found her lick
She's turned another trick
Her treats and times revolve
She's got problems to be solved
Here they come now
See them run now
Here they come now
Chelsea Girls
Poor Mary, she's uptight
She can't turn out her light
She rolled Susan in a ball
And now she can't see her at all
Here they come now
See them run now
Here they come now
Chelsea Girls
Dropout, she's in a fix,
Amphetamine has made her sick
White powder in the air
She's got no bones and can't be scared
Here they come now
See them run now
Here they come now
Chelsea Girls
Here comes Johnny Bore,
He collapsed on the floor
They shot him up with milk
And when he died sold him for silk
Here they come now
See them run now
Here they come now
Chelsea Girls
Here they come now
See them run now
Here they come now

"She wants another scene She wants to be a human being."
amazing line....
I have heard of a few of the mentioned factory people. Including Ondine, Bridget, Ingrid (Superstar), Mary(Woronov), Susan (Bottomly) and Johnny Bore. Susan is most notably known as International Velvet. Of all the people listed, I know that everyone except for Johnny Bore were in the film Chelsea Girls, including Nico. They all must have been involved somehow in the making of Chelsea Girls or stayed at the Chelsea Hotel. The Chelsea Hotel is a major hotel that musicians, artists, and etc. stay in in Manhattan. A lot of these people stay for long periods of time, including Edie Sedgwick who started a fire in her room there because she tipped over a candle(i think, if i am remembering it correctly) during a drug induced state, she was also in Chelsea Girls, but made Warhol cut her out because of other issues involving Bob Dylan and a supposed contract she signed.
I haven't seen the movie, unfortunately, but wikipedia says that Ondine is in one of the more notable segments of the film entitled "Pope," which is where that reference derives from.
First_timer, where did you find an Elliott Smith cover of this song?
Seems to be about prostitution.
This song was originally written for Andy Warhol's movie The Chelsea Girls. The song describes various people in the film and other "Warhol Superstars" who hung around the Factory. Ondine was an actor in various Warhol movies. Bridget refers to Briged Berlin (Polk). I can only geuss who the other people are though.
I haven't heard this version yet, but its a great song. I think this is my favorite song at the moment. I heard it through an Elliott Smith cover. I have only heard the Nico solo version.
Ondine was the self-proclaimed Pope of Greenwich Village, jennytakeabow.
Ohh okay, that makes sense. Thanks, homgsh!
Seems to be about the whole Factory scene and how fucked up it is.
No idea who Johnny Bore is. Or Pepper, or Dropout. Someone explain? I tried looking for Johnny, couldn't get any results.
