Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo

I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future is coming on
I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on

Yeah
Finally, someone let me out of my cage
Now time for me is nothing 'cause I'm counting no age
Now I couldn't be there
Now you shouldn't be scared
I'm good at repairs
And I'm under each snare
Intangible
Bet you didn't think so I command you to
Panoramic view
Look, I'll make it all manageable
Pick and choose
Sit and lose
All you different crews
Chicks and dudes
Who you think is really kickin' tunes?
Picture you gettin' down in a picture tube
Like you lit the fuse
You think it's fictional?
Mystical? Maybe
Spiritual
Hero who appears in you to clear your view when you're too crazy
Lifeless
To those the definition for what life is
Priceless
To you because I put you on the hype shit
You like it?
Gun smokin' righteous with one toke
You're psychic among those
Possess you with one go

I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future is coming on
I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future (that's right) is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on

The essence, the basics
Without it, you make it?
Allow me to make this
Childlike in nature
Rhythm
You have it or you don't, that's a fallacy
I'm in them
Every sprouting tree
Every child of peace
Every cloud and sea
You see with your eyes
I see destruction and demise (that's right)
Corruption in disguise
From this fuckin' enterprise
Now I'm sucked into your lies
Through Russel, not his muscles but percussion he provides
For me as a guide
Y'all can see me now 'cause you don't see with your eye
You perceive with your mind
That's the inner
So I'ma stick around with Russ and be a mentor
Bust a few rhymes so motherfuckers remember where the thought is
I brought all this
So you can survive when law is lawless (right here)
Feelings, sensations that you thought was dead
No squealing, remember that it's all in your head

I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future is coming on
I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future is coming on
It's coming on
It's coming on
My future

Like all songs this has several keys to figuring out the meaning. Firstly there are sound clips from "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" - the Clint Eastwood film, and the "sunshine in a bag" could refer to money in a bag - hence the name of the song.

However, there is another "sunshine" people sometimes forget. Rewind 30 years, "Sunshine Acid" was a particular potent form of LSD manufactured that was as high as 300 micrograms (that's about 3x as potent as a relatively potent tab of blotter these days) - it was commonly referred to as just "Sunshine"

"I ain't happy. I'm feeling glad. I got sunshine in a bag. I'm useless, but not for long. The future is coming on."

    • When dosing there is a sense of apprehension about the trip, you're not quite happy, but you're feeling glad that you're about to trip. The sunshine refers to sunshine acid, and the "I'm useless, but not for long" describes how it will benefit him. Then the "The future is coming on" part refers to the come up, as it takes approximately an hour and a half from dosing to feel the effects.

"Yeah, ha ha. Finally someone let me out of my cage." - Often when consuming psychedelics, people feel that something is "released" within them.

"Now time for me is nothing 'cause I'm counting no age." - Psychedelics cause time dilation, a minute can feel like an hour, or time can stand still completely for what seems like weeks.

"No, I couldn't be there. No, you shouldn't be scared. I'm good at repairs and I'm under each snare." - Psychedelics often make people afraid, even those who have never taken them, but they can be powerful healing tools - and the tripper just needs to remember that the psychedelics are only so powerful, they won't kill you or make you do anything stupid.

"Panoramic view, look I'll make it all manageable." - Psychedelics change perception, making it easier to analyse things, LSD in particular does this a lot.

"Chicks and dudes, who you think is really kicking tunes?" - Here they're talking about how much psychedelics have influenced music, they're saying it's not the artists that came up with the ideas, but the acid.

"You think it's fictional? Mystical, maybe. Spiritual hero who appears in you to clear your view when you're too crazy." - Talking about how some people don't understand psychedelics and think they can't help you, when really they're a very powerful aid. They can also "clear your view" as suggested when things are clouding up your mind, by removing the ego, or "mental chatter" temporarily.

"Priceless to you because I put you on the hype shit." - This is about how it has benefited him in his creative work - creating music.

"You like it? Gun smoking, righteous, with one toke, psychic Among those, possess you with one go." - This is the part that confuses people, as a toke is the inhalation of Cannabis smoke - however people often smoke while on LSD as it can heighten the trip and make it more intense, one toke of even the best Cannabis will do very little, but while you're tripping, that's another matter.

"The essence, the basics, without it, you make it. Allow me to make this childlike in nature. Rhythm, you have it or you don't, that's a fallacy. I'm in them, every sprouting tree, every child apiece, Every cloud at sea, you see with your eye. You see destruction and demise, corruption in disguise, From this fucking enterprise" - Anyone who has ever taken psychedelics will probably get a sense of deja vu when they first hear this song. This part in particular very much explains a large part of psychedelics. When the ego is lost you feel a strong sense of one-ness, that life is in everything, every rock, every tree, every bird, every person. It also gives a sense of duality, you see the love in everyone, but you also see the destruction and hate, the murder, the corruption in the government and corporate enterprises.

"Y'all can see me now 'cause you don't see with your eye. You perceive with your mind. That's the inner." - Do I really need to explain this part? Really? Just do a simple Google search for "third eye", or "inner eye", "inner mind" and "psychedelics"

"Bust a few rhymes so motherfuckers remember Where the thought is. I brought all this So you can survive when law is lawless. Feelings, sensations that you thought was dead. No squealing, remember that it's all in your head." - This whole last part is going on about how the song's basically a quick dedication to psychedelics and telling people not to worry and go with the trip, because it's just a drug and it'll be over soon - even if the experience is going bad.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
