Waking Up Lyrics
I am waking up for the first time
my mind is made up
I open my eyes
I can't shake it off
what you said last night
I have slept enough
Now I'm going outside
I can run every step counts these days
Everyone asking for my parking space
Please someone tell me how to get the day back
I'm waking up
I have barely opened my eyes
I'm waking up
I have barely opened my eyes (repeat)
Standing on my own by the street light
She has come and gone with stains in her eyes
I can't shake it off
what you said last night
I have slept enough now
I'm going outside
I can run every step counts these days
Everyone asking for my parking space
Please someone tell me how to get the day back
I'm waking up
I have barely opened my eyes
I'm waking up
I have barely opened my eyes (repeat)
my mind is made up
I open my eyes
I can't shake it off
what you said last night
I have slept enough
Now I'm going outside
I can run every step counts these days
Everyone asking for my parking space
Please someone tell me how to get the day back
I have barely opened my eyes
I'm waking up
I have barely opened my eyes (repeat)
She has come and gone with stains in her eyes
I can't shake it off
what you said last night
I have slept enough now
I'm going outside
I can run every step counts these days
Everyone asking for my parking space
Please someone tell me how to get the day back
I have barely opened my eyes
I'm waking up
I have barely opened my eyes (repeat)

Amazing lyrics
Ok, lame, but I first heard this concert when Graham and the boys gave a concert at my school last spring. It was a musky rainy day/night, we were all in Centen courtyard and my really good guy friend who i had started moving away from came up behind me and put his arms around my waste and we just kind of stood there and enjoyed this song as one person. I think of this as my waking up to what i was about to lose in a friend, though I was still too stupid at the time to realize it. In retrospect, I wish I had turned around that night and just kissed him instead of wondering what he would do. It all seems so simple now.
Saw this awesome band open up for Counting Crows at RPI in NY a few years ago. This song is pretty self explanetory, SOmetimes the stress of relationships and work/school and whatnot just get to ya sometimes. This was my favorite song to play driving to school on a cold autumn morning sipping coffee
