I'll go out on a limb, since nobody else has... too good of a song to pass. Seems like it's describing the way a person tends to freak out and sometimes screw up when spending time with the special person, especially when things are just starting. Puts to words the stuff going through your head at that moment.
I agree. And, BTW, I LOVE your screen name. (Then again I am partial to the sax.). Another good Joel song (but there are SOOOO many). New relationships can be scary. Nobody wants to mess up. I remember my first date with Tom (8 yrs my senior when I was in college). After an entire night of first double dating for pizza and then hanging out at his house listening to music, he told me he intentionally allowed me to have a chive stuck to my front tooth the entire evening. He thought it was funny:) I was mortified being...

It set the pace for a relaxed month of dating (until he told me he wanted me to quit college; marry him; and have his child). Ahhhhh...one never knows what s/he will get for a partner until a few dates have passed...
