Seneca Falls Lyrics
Oh its set in 1848 in the crush of New York state
and the thing about destiny is it never ever makes mistakes
Susan B. Anthony
Forever haunting me
Owned raped sold thrown
A woman was never her own
They cried freedom rise up for me
I want i want i want freedom
Oh its set in 1848 in the crush of New York state
and the thing about destiny is it never ever sets you free
Elizabeth Cady
Forever reminding me
I dont steal the air i breathe
Freedom rise up for me
and the thing about destiny is it never ever makes mistakes
Forever haunting me
Owned raped sold thrown
A woman was never her own
and the thing about destiny is it never ever sets you free
Forever reminding me
I dont steal the air i breathe

I agree- this is a great song. I love the part "Elizabeth Cady/ Forever reminding me/ I don't steal the air I breathe" I don't agree with the rest of what you said though. I know about the Seneca Falls Convention, and i know who Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were. I am fourteen years old. I am a girl. Watch what you say.
I heard this song and absolutely loved it. I thought Brody was so amazing to have written a song about the Women's Right Movement... For my first year in college, I had to read a book, I chose a book about Elizabeth Cady Stanton and the Seneca Falls Convention, soley because of this song. It's an amazing story, all should really read into it.
This is easily one of the better songs off a great album, but it's no doubt going to be completely overlooked because 14 year old girls have no idea what Seneca Falls was or who Susan B. Anthony or Elizabeth Cady Stanton were.
Plus: "The thing about destiny..." is probably the most badass fucking lyrics ever.
This is a great song, and all of my friends have overlooked it, though most of my friends aren't into punk. Also, I am in college and I have found quite a few people who don't know about Seneca Falls. It is very scary, I am an anarchist ex-communist, so people not knowing about advancements in civil rights is kind of scary to me. sorry 'bout the run-on sentence
this is agreat song and i agree with all of you people....she kicks ass
Eh, I really didn't like this song. Of course I completely understand and know what it's about but, I just think people get off on the fact that it's about something historical and what not to feel intelligent knowing about it. That made no sense, I know.
first time i ever heard this song was in tony hawk's pro skater 4. it's pretty good. what exactly does "crush" mean in "the crush of new york state".
I'm a fourteen year old girl, too. I know about the battle for women's rights. But it's true that most people our age wouldn't know about it. It's a beautiful song.
Actually, most people of any age don't know too much about the American Women's rights movement.
Hands down, number one most rockin song about women suffrage.
